Hello, I’m a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist providing cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to children, adolescents and adults. I aim to be both professional and compassionate in my approach to helping people to find relief from psychological difficulties, the stresses of life or relationship problems.

I offer CBT treatment for the following difficulties:

Panic Attacks
Low Self-Esteem
Worry/Generalised Anxiety
Disorder (OCD)

Social Anxiety
Health Anxiety
Relationship Difficulties
Post-traumatic Stress
Disorder (PTSD)
Coping with Autism/Asperger’s syndrome

What is CBT

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based talking therapy recommended by the UK National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) for a number of psychological difficulties.

CBT involves developing your skills to help you to challenge the way you think and behave in response to difficult situations. Through teaching new coping strategies CBT helps individuals to deal with difficult feelings. In CBT discussing overwhelming problems and breaking these down into smaller parts helps individuals to deal with these difficulties in more positive and practical ways.

You can find out more about CBT on the following NHS website:

How I work

Prior to starting therapy I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation to help you to decide whether CBT is the right therapy for you.

I offer weekly face-to-face, skype or telephone sessions to children, adolescents and adults.

During our first few sessions I will ask you questions about your life, background and current difficulties. We will then agree on an individualised treatment plan, including the number of sessions required, to help you to address some of the difficulties you wish to work on.

The length of treatment varies from person to person, however, most difficulties can be effectively addressed in 5-20 sessions, with each session lasting for 50 minutes.

"Harriet has been a fantastic source of strength, insight and compassion which I have no doubt has considerably shortened my road to recovery." - Client

"Very professional, understanding, encouraging and supportive throughout the sessions. Would highly recommend to others who need help." - Client
